Better BC Ferries ("we", "our", "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
With your permission, we access your device location solely to calculate driving times to ferry terminals. Your location is processed on-device and is not transmitted to our servers or shared with third parties.
Your favorite routes, sailing watches, and app preferences are stored locally on your device using standard iOS storage. This data is not transmitted to our servers.
The free version of the app displays ads served by Google AdMob. Google may collect and use data to serve personalized or non-personalized ads in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device's privacy settings or by subscribing to Better BC Ferries Premium.
If you subscribe to Better BC Ferries Premium, the transaction is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store any payment information.
Our backend service analyzes publicly available BC Ferries terminal webcam images to estimate vehicle queue lengths. This processing involves public infrastructure cameras only and does not collect, store, or process any personal information or images from users.
With your permission, we send local notifications for sailing watch reminders. These are scheduled on-device. We do not send unsolicited marketing notifications.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties, except as described above for advertising services.
All user data (favorites, watches, preferences) is stored locally on your device. Deleting the app removes all locally stored data.
The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
